Cross-sector reads and scenario framing

Where a theme is being priced, where it is not, and the specific conditions that would move it from one to the other.

How a market view is built

  • Cross-sector reads

A theme rarely lives in one sector. Market views trace it across the companies that carry it, including the ones whose exposure is not obvious from their industry label.

  • Priced versus unpriced

The interesting question about a widely-discussed theme is not whether it is real. It is which parts of it the market has already paid for.

  • Conditions, not calls

Views are stated as conditional structures — if these things hold, this follows — so they can be evaluated against evidence rather than against confidence.

On confidence

A market view that cannot be wrong is not a view. Every one published here states the conditions under which it fails, and those conditions are specific enough that you could check them yourself.

Where the evidence genuinely does not support a conclusion, that is the finding. Manufacturing a confident answer from thin evidence is the failure mode this product exists to avoid.
